Legal Aid Cell
About the cell
The Legal Aid Cell of Aditya College of Law is constituted in accordance with the mandate of the Bar Council of India and the spirit of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, which enshrines access to justice as a fundamental right of every citizen. The Committee is committed to providing free legal assistance to individuals belonging to marginalised and economically disadvantaged sections of society, while simultaneously providing law students with practical exposure to client interaction, legal counselling, and the functioning of legal aid mechanisms in India.
Through its activities, the Legal Aid Committee bridges the gap between legal education and social responsibility. Students who participate in legal aid programmes develop a deeper understanding of substantive and procedural law, while actively contributing to the constitutional promise of equal justice. The Committee operates under the supervision of designated faculty members and collaborates with District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs), NGOs, and other statutory bodies where appropriate.
